Job Summary:

This position is responsible for repairing construction machines, component assemblies, and parts in the shop and field. Responsibilities include diagnosing issues, ordering parts, writing technical reports, warranty reporting, maintaining company assets, and effective communication with team members.

Responsibilities:

1. Repair equipment and components, including:

• Developing repair plans and sequences
• Determining necessary parts, materials, tooling, etc.
• Performing repairs properly and safely, with quality assurance testing of components, systems, and machines

• Complete reports for parts ordering, tooling usage, daily service, and work order closure in a timely and legible manner
• Communicate repair progress with supervisors as required
• Manage parts and materials through the company’s parts system
• Handle special tools via the company’s Tool Room, maintaining proper care and use of tools and major shop equipment
• Use company vehicles, service trucks, and fuel cards responsibly
• Keep work areas and service vehicles clean and safe
• Maintain tools and equipment in a safe, efficient, and updated manner
• Follow all company policies and safety guidelines
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by the manager

Education, Experience, and Skills:

High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required. An Associate Degree in Diesel or Equipment Technology or four years of apprenticeship experience is preferred. Technician classification depends on experience, knowledge, and competence.

Physical Demands:

Ability to sit, stand, walk, and use hands for handling and feeling. Reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, lift, crouch, or crawl as needed. Ability to talk and hear. Reasonable accommodations may be provided for individuals with disabilities.

Work Environment:

Frequent exposure to wet/humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. Occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, weather extremes, and vibration. Noise levels are moderate to loud.
