Job summary

MasTec Communications Group seeks a Field Technician I to support maintenance and operation of generators, HVAC, and telecom site infrastructures. This role emphasizes safety and delivering high-quality service with a hands-on approach.

The ideal candidate is safety-driven, ready for long-term projects, and able to travel. A HS diploma or GED is required, with a valid driver's license and ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Compensation ranges $24–$28 per hour depending on experience.

Responsibilities

As a Field Technician I, you are responsible for providing support in the maintenance and operation of generators, HVAC, and telecommunication site infrastructures. You believe in doing the job right. Being the best. And you’re up for the challenge.

In addition, you will:

• Read and understand a customer's detailed plan
• Provide superior customer service while ensuring all essential job functions are performed in a timely, efficient, accurate, and safe manner
• Adhere to all company and industry standards/regulations
• Conduct due diligence for multiple projects prior to doing field work
• Review peer work product
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

About You:

• Safety is a part of your day-to-day
• You have a track record of completing work with a high level of quality
• You have a knack for figuring out hard problems and enjoy a hands-on approach to your work
• You are looking for long-term projects
• You enjoy getting your hands dirty with your team
• 1 year of general construction experience preferred; some cell industry experience is highly preferred
• Must be at least 21 years old, have a valid driver’s license, and have a clean driving record to operate a company vehicle
• High school diploma or GED; technical degree preferred
• Ability to work on ladders; demonstrated manual dexterity
• Must be adaptable to changing environments
• Must be able to pick up/carry loads of 50 lbs., and be capable of working up to 12 hours
• Must be available to work weekends and/or nights, in extreme weather conditions if necessary, and be willing to travel extensively
• Must be able to work out of the market or away from home as work demands

Compensation of $24-$28 per hour, depending on the experience.
