Surveying And Mapping, LLC (SAM) is seeking a dedicated field-based position in Virginia to support geospatial data collection and utilities identification. The role involves outdoor work, equipment operation, and collaboration with teams across offices to deliver accurate field data.

Candidates should be able to travel, work in various weather, and progress toward relevant certifications while supporting the company’s mission to advance critical infrastructure projects with precision.

Qualifications

• Experience in field surveying and data collection using geospatial equipment.
• Ability to perform utilities and control-point identification in plans and maps.
• Willingness to travel and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Assist in identifying marked utilities, structures, and control points on plans and in the field.
• Perform operator level maintenance on company tools and equipment.
• Assist in implementing approved traffic control plans.
• Progress toward certifications for advancement.
• Efficiently record data of utilities and structures in the field.
• Operate vacuum truck and related tools; drive commercial vehicles.
