Job summary

Gregory Poole Equipment Company in Roanoke, VA seeks an experienced Field Service Technician to independently repair and maintain material handling equipment at customer sites. You will perform preventative maintenance, replacements, installations and rebuilds to restore equipment to proper operation.

Must have strong mechanical skills across transmissions, engines and hydraulics, with at least six years in the field and experience on Hyster/Yale/Clark equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Six years of field experience with heavy equipment; at least two years on Hyster, Yale, Clark or similar equipment.
• Advanced in at least four mechanical systems (e.g., transmissions, engines, hydraulics).
• Must be able to lift up to 95 pounds and operate a service vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Review work schedule and prepare parts and PPE.
• Troubleshoot engines, fuel systems, transmissions and components using manuals and diagrams.
• Load service truck with parts and equipment for field repairs.
• Use hoists, lift trucks and tools to repair and rebuild equipment.
• Perform safety checks and document repairs and warranty paperwork.
• Disassemble/assemble parts and equipment and test systems after repairs.
