Job summary

UES is seeking a motivated Field Technician I to support engineering, environmental services, and materials testing across construction projects. You will perform on-site inspections, collect samples, and conduct field and lab tests to verify specifications and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; related coursework a plus.
• 0–3 years field-based outdoor experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record required.
• Certification such as ACI Level 1 desired or obtainable.
• Commitment to OSHA safety standards and PPE usage.
• Basic computer skills with Office & data systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field and laboratory testing of soils, concrete, asphalt, and aggregates.
• Collect, label, and transport samples to laboratories per procedures.
• Prepare detailed test reports and maintain logs.
• Operate and maintain testing equipment per guidelines.
• Communicate site conditions and progress to supervisors and managers.
• Travel to job sites with flexibility for schedules and overtime.
• Support safety programs and adhere to OSHA requirements.
• Assist with project documentation and presentations.
