Job summary

Master Meter is seeking a Field Technician I in Charlotte, NC. The role supports sales and distributor partners, troubleshoots smart water meters and communication systems, and provides technical service on-site with a strong emphasis on safety and accuracy.

The position requires travel (approximately 80% overnight) within North and South Carolina, plus collaboration with field teams to install, repair and maintain equipment, document work orders and report activity to management.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• One-year technical customer service experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills; Excel or databases helpful.
• Willingness to travel up to 80% overnight.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for AMR/AMI systems on-site.
• Oversee AMR/AMI equipment installations as needed.
• Diagnose issues with communication, electrical systems and software tools.
• Maintain communication with property staff and provide updates to management.
• Maintain documentation and reporting; follow up with timeliness and accuracy.
• Collaborate across teams to improve operations and knowledge sharing.
