Job summary

NiSource is hiring a Field Technician to install, repair and replace distribution facilities and to operate and maintain construction equipment. The role includes leakage pinpointing, repairs, and service/mains replacement, plus operating backhoes, tamper, and hydra-crane.

You will assist crews with tie-ins and other construction tasks. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, mechanical aptitude, ability to obtain a valid Ohio CDL, and basic math skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand tools for repair of field facilities.
• Must obtain Ohio CDL and certification to operate company trucks within 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Identify leaks, perform repairs, replace services or mains segments.
• Operate light earth-moving equipment (backhoe, side boom, tamper, hydra-crane).
• Maintain equipment (cleaning, greasing, lubrication) and transport equipment/materials.
• Assist crews with tie-ins, leakage repair and other construction operations.
