Job summary
Utility Pipeline Ltd. in Commercial Point, OH is seeking a Gas Utility Technician to support the maintenance, operation, and construction of gas distribution systems.
The role involves field work, service orders, meter reads, leak investigations, and safety-first procedures in a hands-on utility environment. Qualified candidates will have a High School diploma or GED, 1–3 years in gas/utilities or related fields, and a valid driver’s license with a clean record.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 1–3 years in natural gas, utilities, construction, or related field preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with clean record.
- Ability to pass drug and alcohol testing.
- Complete safety and Operator Qualification (OQ) training.
- Strong customer service and communication abilities.
Responsibilities
- Respond to service orders such as meter sets and gas turn-ons/offs.
- Read meters and support troubleshooting of gas service issues.
- Inspect gas lines, meters, and appliances for safe operation and interact with customers professionally.
- Serve as an on-call emergency responder in the assigned area.
- Assist with maintenance, inspections, and documentation to ensure compliance.
