Job summary

Inland Cellular LLC seeks a Field Technician to install and activate wireless broadband at customer sites in Spokane, WA. You will handle rooftop and pole mounts, FTTH/FTTB services, and configure CPE on location.

Qualifications

  • Set up and configure customer premise equipment (CPE) such as wireless routers and extenders.
  • Ensure proper cabling, grounding, and bonding in accordance with safety standards.
  • Diagnose and resolve connectivity issues and service disruptions on wireless and fiber networks.
  • Perform tests with OTDR, power meters, and spectrum analyzers to verify service quality.
  • Document site surveys, installation checklists, trouble reports, and maintain inventory.

Description
  • Installation & Activation:
  • Perform professional installation of wireless broadband equipment (e.g., radios, antennas, customer premise equipment - CPE) at customer locations, including rooftop or pole mounts.
  • Install and activate fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) or fiber-to-the-business (FTTB) services, including running fiber optic cables, terminating connectors (fusion splicing experience a plus), and installing Optical Network Terminals (ONTs).
  • Set up and configure customer premise equipment (CPE) such as wireless routers, Wi‑Fi extenders, and other networking devices.
  • Ensure proper cabling, grounding, and bonding in accordance with company standards and safety regulations.
  • Troubleshooting & Maintenance:
  • Diagnose and resolve internet connectivity issues, signal strength problems, and service disruptions on both wireless and fiber networks.
  • Perform testing of signal strength, bandwidth, and connectivity using specialized tools (e.g., OTDR, power meters, spectrum analyzers).
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on installed equipment and network infrastructure as needed.
  • Respond to service calls efficiently, prioritizing customer satisfaction.
  • Customer Service & Education:
  • Provide exceptional customer service, clearly explaining the installation process, device functionality, and service features.
  • Educate customers on how to use their new internet service, Wi‑Fi network, and troubleshoot basic issues independently.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction before leaving the premises, addressing all questions and concerns professionally.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
  • Accurately complete all necessary paperwork, digital forms, and service orders, including site surveys, installation checklists, and trouble reports.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of tools, equipment, and company vehicles.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, technical support, and management regarding job status, technical issues, and scheduling.
  • Safety & Compliance:
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all installations comply with local codes, industry standards, and company specifications.
Requirements
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, Wi‑Fi standards, routing, switching).
  • Familiarity with common hand tools and power tools used in installations.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Comfortable working with ladders, at heights, and in various outdoor weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to climb ladders and work at heights (e.g., on rooftops, utility poles).
  • Ability to work in confined spaces, attics, and crawl spaces.
  • Capable of performing tasks requiring bending, kneeling, crouching, and reaching.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage time effectively.
