Job summary

Verrex Corporation in Mountainside, NJ is seeking a Field Technician to install and test audio-visual systems, lead subcontractors on multi-room projects, and document commissioning results with Project Manager collaboration.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position offering hourly pay between $36 and $42, a monthly cell phone stipend, and a car allowance, plus a comprehensive benefits package including medical/dental/vision, 401(k) with match, life insurance, LTD, FSAs, and optional

Qualifications

• Valid Driver’s License required.
• OSHA-30 Certification required.
• AVIXA CTS Certification preferred.
• 3–5 years of industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Read wiring schematics for Control, Audio, Video, Data and Power.
• Identify and terminate common AV/Data connectors (RJ-45, XLR, 3.5 mm, CATV).
• Install AV systems per schematics and manage field drawings.
• Mount devices safely on walls and read architectural plans.
• Use tools like Multimeter, Impedance Meter, CAT5 Tester, Video Test Pattern Generator.
• Load programming code and DSP files; perform point-to-point testing.
• Basic networking: set IPs and use command prompts.
• Interact professionally with clients daily; follow safety rules.

Job Description

POSITION: Field Technician

REPORTS TO: Director of Operations

OBJECTIVE:

This role is responsible for the effective installation and final testing audio-visual systems. You must be able to lead a team of subcontractors on multi-room projects. You will work closely with the Project Manager and Project Engineer to provide documented results from system commissioning.

COMPENSATION:

Non-exempt (hourly), monthly cell phone stipend and car allowance.

• Required to load Programming code and DSP Files and make minor modifications when necessary.
• Required to “point to point” test integrated systems to ensure proper signal flow.
• Must have fundamental Networking skills, including but not limited to:
  • Setting IP addresses
  • Command Line Prompts.
• Must be able to professionally interact with clients on a daily basis
• Must have the capability to comply with all safety rules and regulations required by clients for site visitation.
• Perform Client Training when applicable
