Job summary

Verrex is seeking a Field Technician in Mountainside, NJ to expertly install and test audio-visual systems and to lead subcontractors on multi-room projects. You will collaborate with the Project Manager and Project Engineer to provide documented results from system commissioning.

The role is non-exempt, hourly, with a monthly cell phone stipend and car allowance, plus a comprehensive benefits package. Experience with AV/IT and familiarity with industry tools are valued.

Qualifications

• Read wiring schematics for AV systems.
• Install audiovisual systems per approved schematics and manage drawings in the field.
• Ability to identify and terminate common connectors used in AV/Data.
• Read architectural plans and cable pull schedules.

Responsibilities

• Use basic hand tools (strippers, cutters, wrenches, sockets).
• Read wiring schematics including Control, Audio, Video, Data, and Power.
• Install AV systems and components per schematics and manage field drawings.

Job Description

POSITION: Field Technician

REPORTS TO: Director of Operations

OBJECTIVE:

This role is responsible for the effective installation and final testing audio-visual systems. You must be able to lead a team of subcontractors on multi-room projects. You will work closely with the Project Manager and Project Engineer to provide documented results from system commissioning.

COMPENSATION:

Non-exempt (hourly), monthly cell phone stipend and car allowance.

• Required to load Programming code and DSP Files and make minor modifications when necessary.
• Required to “point to point” test integrated systems to ensure proper signal flow.

  • Setting IP addresses
  • Command Line Prompts.
• Must be able to professionally interact with clients on a daily basis
• Must have the capability to comply with all safety rules and regulations required by clients for site visitation.
• Perform Client Training when applicable
