Job Summary

We are hiring an Audio Visual Technician I to support the installation of commercial AV systems in corporate, retail, educational, industrial, and healthcare environments. This role is ideal for candidates with entry‑level to intermediate AV installation or structured cabling experience who are looking to grow their technical skills in a hands‑on field environment. Responsibilities include installing displays, projectors, speakers, mounts, and low‑voltage cabling, while following project specifications, safety standards, and installation best practices. This is a contract‑to‑hire opportunity offering long‑term career growth, ongoing training, and advancement opportunities.

Job Responsibilities
  • Install projectors, displays, speakers, amplifiers, sound masking systems, and other AV equipment.
  • Install mounts and hardware on various wall and ceiling surfaces for projectors, displays, speakers, and wireless microphone systems.
  • Install, route, terminate, and test low‑voltage AV cabling including 18/2, coaxial, CAT5e, and CAT6 cables.
  • Terminate and connect RG6, HD‑SDI, SDI, XLR, and RCA cabling.
  • Route and dress cabling from telecommunications rooms and equipment racks to AV device locations.
  • Install cable support pathways such as J‑hooks, D‑rings, and similar infrastructure.
  • Perform cable management, labeling, and organization according to project standards.
  • Read and follow blueprints, drawings, and installation documentation.
  • Communicate professionally with team members, project managers, and customers.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and OSHA guidelines.
  • Assist with project completion while meeting quality and schedule expectations.
Job Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of commercial AV installation or structured cabling experience.
  • Experience working in commercial AV environments.
  • Familiarity with AV technologies and platforms such as Crestron, Extron, QSC (Q‑SYS), Biamp, and Dante.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and installation drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow installation standards.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • OSHA 10 certification preferred.
  • Ability to work a schedule starting at 7:00 AM and maintain 40‑45 hours per week.
  • Ability to work on ladders and scissor lifts.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces when required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to stand and work on your feet for extended periods throughout the shift.
  • Basic hand tools required, including a multi‑bit screwdriver, tape measure, snips, pliers, cable stripper, coax crimper, punch‑down tool, flashlight, work boots, gloves, and tool pouch.
