Job Summary

The technician will perform repair work on a wide variety of equipment, including complete machine overhauls and minor repairs such as fixing leaks, changing fluids and filters. Other tasks may involve rebuilding components like engines, transmissions, hydraulic cylinders, and hydraulic pumps. Some locations are equipped with test equipment for dyno testing engines, hydraulic pumps, and transmissions. Installations may include undercarriage work on track machines, attachments on excavators, quick coupler attachments on loaders, excavators, and backhoes.

Job Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot equipment problems and diagnose failures
• Perform diagnostic functions, check pressures and voltages, locate sources of noise or vibration
• Disassemble machines, order parts, make repairs, reassemble, and verify proper operation
• Ensure repairs are complete, check for leaks, and confirm the unit is work-ready
• Clean parts, scrape gaskets, and prepare for assembly
• Maintain responsibility for a company vehicle and travel daily to job sites
• Maintain safety and cleanliness of the work environment
• Travel to jobsites and vendor training sessions as needed
• Work overtime as required

Job Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; a 2-year technical degree or military training is preferred
• Minimum of 5 years experience in the heavy equipment industry or related field
• Valid driver's license
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and basic math skills
• Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office and manufacturer diagnostic programs
• Good knowledge of equipment operation, mechanical functions, electrical and hydraulic systems
• Ability to stoop, kneel, push, pull, twist, and lift up to 70 lbs.
• Ability to climb and work at heights of up to 20 feet
• Ability to work in all weather conditions
• Self-starter with limited supervision
• Maintain excellent customer service skills
• Ability to pass background, physical, and drug screenings
