Job summary

Jobot is seeking a hands-on Field Service Technician II to support assembly, testing, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of industrial automation and control systems. You will work on projects across water/wastewater, manufacturing, energy, mining, and other industrial environments while developing expertise in controls, instrumentation, networking, and startup activities.

We are seeking a hands-on Field Service Technician II to support the assembly, testing, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of industrial automation and control systems. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work with advanced technologies across water/wastewater, manufacturing, energy, mining, and other industrial environments while developing expertise in controls, instrumentation, networking, and system startup activities. Based on your experience, you'll play a key role in both shop operations and customer site implementations.

Job Details
Shop & Assembly Responsibilities
  • Assemble, wire, and test industrial control panels and automation equipment.
  • Stage projects and prepare materials based on bills of material and project documentation.
  • Review electrical drawings and documentation for accuracy and communicate discrepancies.
  • Support equipment testing, quality assurance activities, and shipment preparation.
  • Maintain compliance with established quality and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with team members to complete projects safely and efficiently.
Field Service Responsibilities
  • Perform installation, commissioning, startup, troubleshooting, and maintenance of industrial automation systems.
  • Support VFD (Variable Frequency Drive) startup and commissioning efforts.
  • Configure and troubleshoot field instrumentation and control devices.
  • Assist with PLC and industrial networking diagnostics.
  • Perform panel and instrument wiring, testing, and verification.
  • Collaborate remotely with engineering teams to resolve technical issues and optimize system performance.
  • Ensure tools, equipment, and diagnostic devices remain properly maintained and calibrated.
  • Follow all customer site safety requirements and access protocols.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
  • Experience with industrial controls, automation, instrumentation, or electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of control panels, electrical systems, and industrial equipment.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to pass required background screening and substance testing requirements.
Preferred Experience
  • VFD commissioning and startup.
  • PLC troubleshooting and support.
  • Industrial networking fundamentals.
  • Process control or manufacturing environment experience.
  • Experience supporting startup and commissioning projects.
