Job summary

Jobot is seeking a highly skilled Controls Engineer to join its engineering team, supporting automated production operations in a global manufacturing environment. You will design, program, troubleshoot, and improve PLC-based automation systems and electrical control schemes for new equipment and existing lines.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of controls engineering experience in industrial manufacturing
• Able to read electrical schematics, P&IDs and process flow diagrams
• Experience with PLC, HMI, DCS and electrical control systems troubleshooting
• Experience with AutoCAD Electrical or similar electrical design software
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support PLC-based automation systems
• Program, troubleshoot, and optimize PLCs, HMIs, and robots
• Design electrical control systems for automated manufacturing equipment
• Support commissioning and startup of new equipment and production lines
• Configure and maintain VFDs
• Troubleshoot electrical controls and automation networks
• Develop control system architecture, documentation, and standards
• Collaborate with Maintenance and Manufacturing to resolve equipment issues
• Support capital equipment projects from concept through implementation

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support PLC-based automation systems
• Program, troubleshoot, and optimize PLCs, HMIs, and industrial robots
• Design electrical control systems for automated manufacturing equipment
• Support commissioning and startup of new equipment and production lines
• Configure and maintain variable frequency drives (VFDs)
• Troubleshoot electrical controls, communication networks, and automation hardware
• Develop control system architecture, documentation, and engineering standards
• Partner with Maintenance and Manufacturing teams to resolve equipment issues
• Support capital equipment projects from concept through implementation
• Improve manufacturing efficiency, quality, and equipment reliability
• Assist with industrial automation integration and controls procurement
• Ensure compliance with engineering change management processes and safety standards

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field required
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or similar discipline preferred
• 5+ years of controls engineering experience within an industrial manufacturing environment
• Strong PLC programming experience with Siemens and/or Allen-Bradley (Rockwell)
• Experience programming HMIs and configuring industrial networking
• Ability to troubleshoot PLC, HMI, DCS, and electrical control systems
• Experience with AutoCAD Electrical or similar electrical design software
• Ability to read electrical schematics, P&IDs, and process flow diagrams
• Strong electrical troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
