Job summary

Jobot is seeking an Electrical & Controls Engineer to design, develop, test, and troubleshoot electrical and control systems for automated industrial equipment. The role spans wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and power distribution drawings, with hands-on PLC/HMI/SCADA programming experience.

You'll work with Allen Bradley, ControlLogix, and FactoryTalk View across industries such as water, energy, mining, and manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and troubleshoot electrical and control systems for automated equipment and processes.
  • Create and modify wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and control wiring diagrams.
  • Program, troubleshoot, and support PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and related platforms.
  • Work with Allen Bradley, ControlLogix, FactoryTalk View, and other automation platforms.
  • Assemble, test, troubleshoot, and modify motor control devices and related equipment.
  • Diagnose issues and perform preventative/corrective maintenance as needed.
  • Support control system upgrades, data acquisition, instrumentation, motion control, and robotics.

This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who enjoys designing control systems, programming PLCs/HMIs, troubleshooting equipment, supporting field installations, and working across a variety of industries including water/wastewater, energy, mining, environmental services, and manufacturing.

We are seeking an Electrical / Controls Engineer to support the design, development, testing, troubleshooting, and implementation of electrical equipment, automation systems, and control system upgrades. This person will work closely with engineering, project, and maintenance teams to support both new and existing equipment, improve system reliability, and help develop practical automation solutions for industrial customers.

The role will involve a blend of electrical engineering, PLC/HMI programming, control system design, field support, troubleshooting, and customer-facing project work.

Job Details
  • Design, develop, test, and troubleshoot electrical and control systems for automated industrial equipment and processes.
  • Create and modify wiring diagrams, panel layouts, power distribution drawings, controls wiring diagrams, and engineering specifications for system upgrades, expansions, and new installations.
  • Program, troubleshoot, and support PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and related automation platforms.
  • Work with Allen Bradley, ControlLogix, FactoryTalk View, and other automation/control platforms.
  • Assemble, test, troubleshoot, and modify motor control devices, switch panels, transformers, drives, instrumentation, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, and other electrical equipment.
  • Diagnose electrical and mechanical equipment issues and perform preventative and corrective maintenance as needed.
  • Support control system upgrades, conversions, data acquisition systems, instrumentation, motion control, process control, robotics, retrofit systems, and wireless communications projects.
  • Collaborate with project engineers and maintenance technicians to resolve production issues and implement error-proofing solutions.
  • Oversee or support new production installations, field service work, system testing, and customer-facing project support.
  • Identify opportunities to improve product quality, equipment performance, automation processes, and system reliability.
