Job summary

Riggs CAT is hiring Field Technicians at two levels to service generator sets, switchgear, and related power equipment at client sites. Level 1 focuses on preventive maintenance and testing, while Level 2 targets diesel and gas engine overhaul and advanced diagnostics in Oil & Gas applications.

Roles require hands-on mechanical aptitude, safety training, and willingness to travel for training and field assignments.

Qualifications

• Experience in field service for generator sets, switchgear, or related critical power equipment.
• Experience with diesel or gas engines and industrial power equipment.
• Strong safety awareness, including arc flash and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Ability to diagnose issues, interpret results, and document findings clearly.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections on generator sets and switchgear using checklists.
• Set up and run load bank tests and interpret results.
• Service automatic transfer switches and low/medium-voltage switchgear.
• Diagnose issues and document findings for clients and internal tracking.
• Level 2: perform top-end and major engine overhauls; support G3600/G3500 applications.
