Job summary

Mobile Air Inc. is seeking a skilled Generator Technician to diagnose problems, perform repairs, and conduct routine maintenance on our generators at client sites and in shop settings.

The role requires strong understanding of electrical systems, diesel engines, and safety protocols. You will install, maintain, and repair equipment per company standards, lead field installations when needed, travel overnight, mentor technicians, and ensure thorough documentation of all work.

Qualifications

• Associate or technical degree in diesel mechanics or power generation.
• 5+ years of generator maintenance, installation, and repair.
• Strong knowledge of electricity and electrical safety.
• Willing to travel including overnight stays.
• Experience with ERP systems and PC skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair generators and other mechanical equipment according to company standards, to include meeting local, state, and federal regulations.
• Perform preventative maintenance on generators, including oil changes, filter changes, and belt replacements.
• Perform repairs or replace defective parts and work with leadership if repairs need to be outsourced to a third-party generator repair facility.
• Respond to service calls in a timely manner and troubleshoot problems over the phone or in person as required. Provide support to Service Technicians who are deployed to a customer site to repair/troubleshoot generator.
• Assist or may lead large field installations and aid technicians that are deployed to do temporary generator installations. Travel to job sites may be required.
• Serve as Primary Technician for all large KVA generators and associated equipment stored at this location.
• Will be a primary contact for the region as our rental fleet becomes remotely monitored.
• Provide mentoring and training for Service Technicians that are based in Mobile Air/Resolute Branches and Depots.
• Assist with other equipment installation and service if generator specific work is not available/assigned.
