Job summary

SourceLine is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Field Technician to inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair construction equipment in the field. The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and readiness for customer use across diverse brands.

The ideal candidate brings a strong mechanical background, practical field service experience, and the ability to work on-site at diverse locations. Certification in JLG/Genie is preferred, and a high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of equipment repair and rental industry experience preferred.
• Strong mechanical background and ability to diagnose/repair mechanical, electrical and basic electronic issues.
• Experience with heavy equipment brands (John Deere, Komatsu, Bobcat, Caterpillar).
• Ability to perform repairs on active construction sites and in the field.
• Safety-conscious with adherence to standards and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Inspect rental equipment to diagnose malfunctions and assess condition.
• Perform preventive maintenance per service schedules.
• Repair enclosures, interiors, dashboards, and related components.
• Diagnose and repair electrical and basic electronic systems.
• Conduct field repairs or return equipment to shop for further work.
• Operate equipment to verify repairs and move gear safely.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and accurate maintenance records.
• Document findings and service recommendations using work orders.
