Job summary

Smart Start, Inc. in Columbia, SC, is seeking a Service Technician to ensure reliable operation of alcohol monitoring and vehicle electronic systems. This on-site position blends technical work with customer service and requires hands-on installation and troubleshooting.

You will install, service, and train customers on devices, manage weekly hours, and ensure confidentiality and compliance with laws. A valid driver’s license and background/drug screening may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Proficient in 12-volt DC systems and vehicle electronics.
• Experience with diagnostics, multimeter testing, and circuit analysis.
• Hands-on installation and servicing of GPS, remotes, cameras, and related devices.
• Ability to provide customer training and phone support.

Responsibilities

• Install, service, troubleshoot, and remove alcohol monitoring and vehicle electronic devices.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.
• Conduct customer training sessions and provide phone support.
• Make daily or weekly reminder calls to customers with upcoming appointments.
• Perform monthly inventory audits and assist nearby facilities as needed.
