Job summary

Collins Engineers, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Structural Inspection-Team Leader for its Fairfax, Virginia office. The role blends office and fieldwork, overseeing inspection teams, budgets, and schedules while liaising with clients and agencies.

A PE is required, with NICET preferred, and you should have 4–5 years of bridge or related inspection experience. Travel to job sites and meeting attendance beyond regular hours may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's in civil engineering from an accredited four-year university.
• Minimum 4–5 years of bridge or ancillary structure inspection experience.
• Passage of FHWA-NHI-130055 Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges course FHWA-NHI-130055.
• PE certification is required; NICET certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise above-water and underwater bridge inspections, design, and evaluations.
• Lead inspection teams, manage budgets and schedules, liaise with clients/government agencies.
• Prepare engineering reports, project proposals, and design documents.
• Direct and mentor junior staff; ensure safety and technical quality.
