Job summary

The Middlesex Corporation is seeking a Surveyor to perform field layout and as-builts on assigned projects. The role requires working in all weather for 8–10 hours daily, carrying up to 40 pounds of equipment.

You will operate GPS and Total Station equipment, perform site setup and layout calculations, and transfer files between field and office while collaborating with project teams to establish survey control and reporting. A driving license is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; construction-related degree preferred.
• 7–10 years of construction-related experience required.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Knowledge of survey-grade GPS and SCS900 software and other survey equipment.
• Basic CAD skills: Civil 3D, MicroStation, Open Roads, Carlson.

Responsibilities

• Operate GPS, Total Station, and Level for field layout and as-builts.
• Set up sites; calibration, level runs, control checks.
• Perform field calculations (Station/Offset, Distances, Grading).
• Keep detailed field notes and transfer data between field and office.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and Superintendents on layout requirements and reporting.
• Utilize Trimble survey equipment and software (GPS, Robotic Total Stations); manage machine control equipment.
