Job summary

The Middlesex Corporation seeks a Survey Manager to lead surveying operations for major heavy civil projects. You will manage field crews, develop 3D terrain models, and ensure accurate layout using Civil 3D, Carlson, and Trimble Business Center.

Strong leadership, communication, and safety focus are essential. Requirements include 10+ years in construction surveying, 5+ years in survey management, and licensure as a Professional Surveyor and Mapper preferred in FL/MA/CT.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of progressive experience performing construction project layout.
• 5 years in a survey management position.
• Preferred licensed Professional Surveyor and Mapper in FL/MA/CT.
• Degrees in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or Civil Engineering Technology.
• Knowledge of modern survey equipment and GPS/robotic total stations.

Responsibilities

• Promote and ensure safety policies on all projects.
• Coordinate with Project Managers on initial layout requirements and field reporting.
• Utilize Trimble hardware and software for surveying and machine control.
• Use Civil 3D, Carlson and Trimble software for contouring and staking.
• Prepare final survey records and as-builds; coordinate survey subcontractors.
• Oversee survey crew scheduling, QA, and field notes documentation.
• Maintain equipment calibration, safety, and data integrity.
