Job summary

Pape-Dawson Engineers in The Woodlands, TX is seeking an experienced land survey crew member to support the Party Chief. You will load and maintain survey gear, operate data collectors, Total Stations, Robotic TS, levels, and GPS-RTK receivers, and perform field measurements for construction staking.

Responsibilities include field notes, sketches, data records, safety adherence, and occasional crew leadership. Strong communication and independent calculation skills are required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in land surveying or related role.
• Proficient with advanced surveying instruments and data collection.
• Ability to perform and analyze technical calculations independently.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Capability to lead field crew occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload, inspect, and maintain survey equipment.
• Operate data collectors, Total Stations, Robotic Total Stations, levels, and GPS-RTK Receivers.
• Conduct field work to ascertain precise measurements and locations of natural features and man-made structures.
• Conduct construction staking for streets, utilities, drains, and lot layouts.
• Compile detailed notes, sketches, and records of survey data, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Provide guidance and direction to Rodmen and less experienced crew members.
• Perform minor field calculations and spatial data analysis.
• Assist the Party Chief in addressing moderately complex issues and running the crew in their absence.
• Adhere to safety protocols and ensure the crew complies with project requirements.
