Job summary

Wetland Studies and Solutions, Inc., a Davey company, seeks an entry-level Survey Technician to join the Gainesville, Virginia team. The role focuses on wetland locations, tree surveys, topographic and related field surveys, with emphasis on accurate land data capture.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, enjoy outdoor work, and be willing to travel regionally up to 50%. You will operate survey equipment, document observations, read maps, and communicate with property

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Ability to perform arithmetic, geometry and trigonometry.
• Willingness to travel regionally to support projects outside DC metro.
• Outdoor work, safe practices in varied weather and terrain.
• Proficiency with MS Office; knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D, Land Desktop and GIS a plus.
• Ability to work independently and with a team.

Responsibilities

• Work in a team environment.
• Assist in wetland locations, tree surveys, topographic and other surveys.
• Capture land information accurately to support schedules and budgets.
• Assist in summarizing and reporting observations and data collected in the field.
• Operate state-of-the-art survey equipment.
• Read maps and navigate varied terrains.
• Communicate with property owners and agencies for access.
• Drive and maintain vehicles, ATVs, boats as needed.
