Wetland Studies and Solutions, Inc., a Davey company, is seeking an entry-level Survey Technician to join our Richmond, Virginia team. This role involves field surveys, data capture, and collaboration with a project team in diverse outdoor environments.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, basic math skills, and willingness to travel regionally. Proficiency with MS Office is expected; knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D, Land Desktop, and GIS is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Ability to perform arithmetic, geometry and trigonometry.
• Willingness to travel regionally to support projects outside DC area.
• Proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D, Land Desktop, GIS is a plus.
• Ability to work safely outdoors and independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Work in a team environment on surveys and related tasks.
• Assist in wetland locations, tree surveys and topographic/bathymetric surveys.
• Capture land information accurately to support schedules and budgets.
• Assist in summarizing and reporting field observations and data.
• Operate survey equipment and tools.
• Read maps and navigate varied terrains on foot or by vehicle.
• Communicate with property owners and agencies for access and work.
• Drive and maintain vehicles including ATVs and boats.
