Job summary

Surveying And Mapping, LLC (SAM) is seeking a field surveying crew member to support a range of surveys including boundary, topographic, and construction layout. You will use land surveying instruments, travel to project sites, and work under a Crew Chief to ensure accurate data collection.

Qualifications include a High School diploma or equivalent and at least one year of industry experience. Valid driver’s license and outdoor work capability are required for year‑round field operations.

Qualifications

• One year industry experience.
• Able to work outdoors year-round in all weather.
• Available to travel/stay out of town for work as needed.
• Valid driver’s license and able to meet company MVR standards.

Responsibilities

• Support field crew by gathering data for boundary, topographic, and construction surveys.
• Assist in completion of field surveys under supervision; communicate progress and problems.
• Operate land survey equipment including robotic total stations and GNSS receivers.
• Use survey controllers and software to collect geospatial data and perform computations.
• Read and interpret maps and plans.
• Maintain neat and accurate field notes with measurements.
• Travel to project locations with per diem included.
