Job summary

Surveying And Mapping, LLC (SAM) seeks a Field Support Technician to assist field crews with boundary, topographic, and construction layout surveys. You will operate land survey instruments, collect geospatial data, and perform computations under supervision, while maintaining clear field notes and ensuring equipment is kept in good condition.

Ideal candidates are comfortable outdoors year-round, able to travel as needed, and committed to safety and accuracy in all surveying tasks.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Able to work outdoors year-round in all types of weather.
• Available to travel/stay out of town for work as needed.

Responsibilities

• Use land survey instruments to support field crews for boundary, topographic, and construction surveys.
• Assist in field surveys under supervision; communicate progress and issues.
• Operate survey equipment including robotic total stations, GNSS receivers, and data radios.
• Collect geospatial data and perform survey computations.
• Read and interpret maps and plans.
• Maintain neat field notes with accurate measurements under supervision.
• Load/unload equipment and supplies; keep gear clean and well-maintained.
• Follow safety procedures and company policies.
