Capstone Copper is seeking a Survey Technician I to support mine operations through field and office surveying, ensuring accurate mapping and documentation of mine features and progress. You will work with Engineering, Geology, Operations and Construction teams, learning survey techniques, equipment, and software in a safe mining setting.

The role emphasizes data collection, data processing, and close collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 0-3 years related experience.
• Associate degree or technical training in Surveying or Geomatics.
• Ability to learn and operate GPS, total station, and related survey equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data collection.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and mining conditions.
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office.
• Ability to read and interpret maps, drawings, and technical documents.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Responsabilités

• Assist with field surveys including topographic and production surveys.
• Operate GPS, total station, drone and other survey equipment.
• Process survey data and help prepare maps and reports.
• Support staking and layout for roads, drills, dumps, and utilities.
• Verify excavation progress and compliance with mine plans.
• Maintain survey equipment and perform basic calibrations.
• Follow site safety procedures and environment requirements.
• Collaborate with engineers, geologists and operations staff.
• Participate in training to build surveying skills.
