Job summary

CRH Americas Materials is seeking a Field Survey Technician in Johnston, IA to conduct land surveys, analyze results, and generate reports to support mine planning and site development. You will operate robotic total stations, GPS, data collectors, and drone equipment, ensuring data accuracy and safety compliance.

The role requires attention to detail, proficiency with Excel/Word/Outlook, and the ability to work in a team, with physical tasks and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Prior surveying experience preferred.
• Prior drone experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and organize survey field activities timely and accurately.
• Operate robotic total stations, GPS equipment, data collectors and drone equipment.
• Ensure proper care, maintenance and calibration of surveying equipment and tools.
• Ensure accuracy and precision of survey work, including verification of data and cross-checking of measurements.
• Perform physically demanding tasks including shoveling, lifting heavy objects, operating motor vehicles and utilizing small power equipment.
• Establish survey control points and site benchmarks.
• Measure stockpiles and calculate material volumes.
• Complete construction staking for site development.
• Other duties as assigned.
