Job summary

Bolton & Menk, Inc. in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Survey Field Technician to support field data collection and surveying operations.

You will perform construction staking, boundary location, ALTA and topography, and document all survey activities while traveling to sites as needed. You should have an associate degree or 3 years of experience, independence, strong time management and problem-solving skills, and proficiency with Trimble equipment and CAD software (AutoCAD, Civil3D, MicroStation).

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Land Surveying Technology, Civil Engineering Technology OR 3 years of relevant surveying experience.
• Ability to perform tasks and solve problems with a high degree of independence.
• Excellent time management, organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of Trimble equipment and software.
• Experience working in CAD and survey software (AutoCAD, Civil3D, Microstation).
• Must possess a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Perform field assignments including construction staking, boundary location, ALTA, and topography for various project types.
• Collect and process field measurements and data for engineering and surveying projects.
• Operate survey instruments (i.e. Total Stations, Data Collector, levels and GPS equipment) and resolve operation issues.
• Research existing survey and engineering records.
• Organize and transfer files between data collectors and internal project folders.
• Travel frequently to work sites and other project related locations.
