Job summary

Bolton & Menk, Inc. in Cedar Rapids is seeking a Survey Field Technician to support a range of field surveys and mapping projects. This full-time role involves 90% fieldwork and 10% office work, with a benefits package and potential seasonal layoff.

You will perform staking, boundary location, ALTA/NSPS surveys, topographic mapping, and data collection using total stations, GPS, and data collectors. A clean driving record and ability to work independently are required.

Qualifications

• Experience with field data collection and survey methods.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of legal descriptions preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform field assignments including construction staking, boundary location, ALTA/ASCM, and topography surveys.
• Collect and process field measurements and data for engineering projects.
• Operate survey instruments (total stations, data collectors, levels, GPS) and troubleshoot issues.
• Research existing survey and engineering records.
• Transfer files between data collectors and project folders.
• Maintain company vehicle and equipment in a clean, professional manner.
• Maintain productive relationships with clients and coworkers.
