Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a full-time Survey Instrument Operator to join a survey crew in the field, supporting design activities, boundary surveying, sketches, and construction staking. Travel to project sites is extensive.

You will operate GPS, total stations, scanners, and data collectors, organize equipment, and maintain safety and quality standards while coordinating with the crew chief and clients.

Qualifications

• Ability to work under guidance of a survey crew chief and take direction for training and mentorship.
• Must be able to operate a total station and GPS in static and RTK modes for control networks, boundaries, ALTA’s, topography, and construction staking.
• Must be able to operate a motor vehicle with a valid license and clean driving history.
• OSHA 10 and CPR/First Aid, or ability to acquire it.
• Basic office suite skills.

Responsibilities

• Discharge duties as requested by Crew Chief
• Perform field work for land surveying scopes including construction staking, boundary location, ALTA, and topography
• Organize survey truck, survey equipment and survey supplies
• Operate GPS, total stations, scanners, and data collectors
• Transfer files between data collectors and internal company project folders
• Maintain productive working relationships with clients and coworkers
• Adhere to Safety, Quality Management and Equipment Maintenance policies
• Lead by example with judgment, values, trust, honesty, openness, and professionalism
