Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. in Baton Rouge is seeking a full-time Survey Instrument Operator to work with a survey crew chief in the field, collecting data for design, boundary surveying, and providing sketches for construction.

You will handle field tasks, organize equipment, and operate GPS, total stations, scanners, and data collectors. OSHA 10 and CPR/First Aid or ability to obtain it are preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience assisting a survey crew chief in field data collection.
• Knowledge of boundary surveying, ALTA surveys, and topography.
• Ability to organize and maintain survey equipment and supplies.

Responsibilities

• Discharge duties as requested by Crew Chief.
• Perform field work including construction staking, boundary location, ALTA, and topography for various projects.
• Organize survey truck, equipment and supplies as necessary.
• Operate GPS, total stations, scanners, and data collectors.
• Transfer files between data collectors and internal project folders.
• Maintain productive relationships with clients and coworkers.
• Adhere to Safety, Quality Management and Equipment Maintenance policies.
• Lead by example with solid judgment, honesty and professionalism.
