Job summary

Benesch is seeking a Survey Intern to support a range of construction projects, focusing on daily inspection and documentation of road, water main, and sewer construction. You will work with project teams, review plans, and assist in maintaining field records.

The role emphasizes collaboration, attention to budget and schedule, and hands-on exposure to field operations. A BS in Civil/Construction Eng is pursued, with strong communication and organizational skills valued.

Qualifications

• Pursuing BS in Civil or Construction Engineering or related field.
• Experience on field projects desirable.
• Experience with design software is a plus.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organization and ability to manage budgets/schedules.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and document infrastructure projects, including road, water main, and sewer work.
• Assist project supervisors with budget and schedule review.
• Perform measurements and quantity calculations for pay items.
• Prepare daily inspector reports and project documentation.
• Report progress and deficiencies to the project supervisor.
• Review plans, specifications, and submittals for assigned work.
• Provide design or technical assistance to project managers.
• Maintain vehicle and equipment for field use.
