Job summary

Webber, part of Ferrovial Construction, seeks a field survey assistant to support the Survey Party Chief across multiple heavy civil projects. You will set up, operate, and maintain survey instruments, assist with layout, topographic, as-built, and boundary surveys, and help ensure data quality in outdoor, fast-paced environments.

The role requires reading construction plans, strong math skills, and clear English communication.

Qualifications

  • 1–3+ years of experience in land surveying, construction surveying, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Complete tasks using survey instruments under the direction of the Survey Party Chief.
  • Set up, operate, and maintain survey instruments, including total stations, GPS (RTK), levels, and data collectors (e.g., Trimble).
  • Construction layout (stakeout), topographic surveys, as-built surveys, boundary and right-of-way surveys.
  • Collect, record, and verify survey data accurately; assist with data quality checks.
  • Perform basic field calculations and support project execution through accurate layout and control.
  • Stake and mark points for construction activities and site control.
  • Maintain and properly care for survey instruments and equipment; report damages or malfunctions.
