Job summary

Primoris Engineering is seeking an Instrument Operator to perform precise surveying and data collection on a Lafayette, Louisiana project. You will operate total stations, GPS, laser scanners, and data collectors to gather topographic and as-built data, establish control points, and prepare survey reports.

The role requires 1–5 years of relevant experience, a high school diploma (a degree or certification in surveying preferred), and the ability to travel to multiple job sites.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Degree or certification in surveying preferred.
• Experience as surveyor, rod man, or instrument man is required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct precise measurements and surveys using total stations, GPS, lasers, and data collectors.
• Establish survey controls, benchmarks, and reference lines.
• Set up and operate surveying equipment for data collection in field.
• Perform calculations and data analysis to generate survey reports.
• Assist in construction staking plans and layout.
• Maintain equipment and ensure safety compliance on site.
