Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a full-time Survey Instrument Operator to work with a survey crew chief in the field. You will collect data for design activities, boundary surveying, and construction layout with extensive travel to project sites.

You will operate GPS, total stations, scanners, and data collectors, maintain survey gear, and transfer files to project folders. Physical work on site and collaboration with clients are required.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Surveying, Engineering Technology, or related field preferred.
• OSHA 10 Certification required or willingness to obtain.
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Discharge duties as requested by Crew Chief.
• Perform field work for land surveying scopes including construction staking, boundary location, ALTA, and topography.
• Organize survey truck, equipment, and supplies.
• Operate GPS, total stations, scanners, and data collectors.
• Transfer files between data collectors and internal project folders.
• Maintain productive relationships with clients and coworkers.
• Adhere to Safety, Quality Management and Equipment Maintenance policies.
• Lead by example with judgment, integrity and professionalism.

Education

Associate's Degree in Surveying or related field
