Job summary

Landpoint, LLC in Houston, TX is seeking an Instrument Operator to assist the Crew Chief and surveying team in field operations. You will operate and maintain surveying instruments, collect data, and ensure survey accuracy on project sites.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; surveying coursework is a plus.
  • Prior experience as a Survey Instrument Operator or related role is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with surveying instruments and data collection tools.
  • Basic understanding of surveying principles and procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Must communicate in English (verbal and written) to follow safety protocols and instructions.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Valid driver's license preferred and ability to travel to job sites.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate surveying instruments (total stations, GPS, levels, data collectors).
  • Maintain and calibrate equipment to ensure accurate operation.
  • Collect field data with high accuracy (measurements, angles, distances, elevations).
  • Follow safety protocols and regulations; comply with OSHA standards.
  • Assist in data transfer and organization for processing.
  • Collaborate with crew Chief and team to complete survey tasks.
