Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a full-time Survey Crew Chief to lead a survey team in the field, collecting data to support design activities, boundary surveying, and construction layouts. The role involves extensive travel to project sites.

The position requires strong leadership, field surveying expertise, and the ability to coordinate with office teams to ensure timely project delivery and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a survey crew and training crew members.
• Ability to operate GPS/Total Station in static and RTK modes for control networks, boundaries, ALTA, and topography.
• Experience driving a vehicle with a clean driving history and possessing a valid license.
• OSHA 10 and CPR/First Aid or willingness to obtain.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Basic office suite proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead a field survey crew and provide mentorship to crew members.
• Perform field work including construction staking, boundary location, ALTA surveys, and topography.
• Organize field staking materials and equipment.
• Operate GPS, total stations, scanners, and data collectors.
• Transfer data files between field devices and project folders.
• Communicate project status, daily progress, and issues to office teams.
• Maintain productive relationships with clients and coworkers.
• Adhere to Safety, Quality Management, and Equipment Maintenance policies.
