Job summary

SME is seeking an experienced Survey Crew Chief to lead field operations across Northern Ohio. This hands-on role requires delivering accurate data and coordinating with licensed surveyors and office staff.

You will direct a one-person crew, mentor technicians, operate robotic total stations, GPS/GNSS, and ensure safety and quality on busy construction sites. Relocation assistance available and competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years progressive land surveying field experience.
• Experience as a Survey Crew Chief or senior field leader.
• Proficient with modern survey equipment and data collectors.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily survey field operations as a one person crew.
• Direct and mentor survey technicians; set expectations for productivity, quality, and safety.
• Serve as SME’s on-site representative with owners, contractors, and inspectors.
• Make real-time field decisions to resolve layout conflicts, project challenges, and site conditions.
