Job summary

LVI Associates is seeking a Survey Party Chief to lead field survey operations for heavy civil infrastructure projects across Ohio. You will direct survey crews, perform construction staking, and ensure layouts align with plans and specs.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of surveying experience, including crew leadership, and proficiency with GPS, RTK, robotic total stations, and data collection tools. Travel to project sites will be required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of surveying experience with leadership responsibilities (2+ years as Party Chief or in crew lead).
• Experience on heavy civil, transportation, highway, bridge, or utility projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise survey crews on construction and infrastructure projects.

A well-established heavy civil construction and infrastructure contractor is seeking an experienced Survey Party Chief to support transportation, bridge, roadway, earthwork, and site development projects throughout Ohio. This position is responsible for leading field survey operations, collecting accurate data, staking construction layouts, and ensuring projects are built according to design plans and specifications.

The ideal candidate will have strong field surveying experience, leadership capabilities, and proficiency with modern GPS and robotic total station equipment.

• Ability to read and interpret engineering plans, construction drawings, and legal descriptions.
• Familiarity with machine control and construction layout technologies is preferred.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.
