Job summary

Connext-LL is seeking a Tech Support Field Technician to install and maintain fiber optic infrastructure for residential and commercial clients. You will work on rooftop equipment or in homes, perform FTTH installations, configure home networks, and troubleshoot issues.

This on-site role requires strong communication, safety awareness, and the ability to work in varied environments, with a Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday shift from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM.

Qualifications

• Experience with fiber optic installation/maintenance.
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly.
• Willingness to perform physically demanding tasks on-site.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot Connext hardware and assist customers with routers and APs.
• Replace or repair in-home Ethernet and perform fiber connections as needed.
• Perform FTTH installations and configure customer premises equipment.
• Follow safety protocols and quality standards.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and ladders safely.
• Repair underground and install aerial fiber drops as needed.

Description

The Tech Support Field Technician is responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting our fiber optic infrastructure for residential and commercial customers. This includes working on rooftop equipment or cabling, performing fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) installations, and configuring home networks. This role requires technical proficiency, strong communication skills, and the ability to work in diverse and sometimes physically demanding environments.

This Shift schedule will consist of the following days: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday, from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM.

Key Responsibilities:

Installation & Maintenance

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with Connext-provided hardware, as well as assist customers with setting up routers and wireless access points and various fiber connection points.
• Replace or repair in-home Ethernet and use a fusion splicer for fiber connections as needed.
• Perform FTTH installations and ensure proper configuration of customer premises equipment.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and quality standards during installation and maintenance.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and ladders safely and effectively.
• Repair underground drop fiber cables and install aerial drop fiber cables to homes when needed.
