Job summary

Howard County Government is seeking a front-line field supervisor to manage the Shared Septic/Reclaimed Water crew. Responsibilities include scheduling grinder pump installations, coordinating maintenance, and ensuring customer service and safety standards are met.

The role requires supervisory experience, ability to read blueprints, and operation of heavy equipment. This position is essential and part of a union environment with formal certifications expected within six months.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with four years of related experience or equivalent.
• Supervises one or more crews of laboring and/or motor equipment operation personnel.
• Experience reading blueprints, contract maps, lines and grades for projects.

Responsibilities

• Directs activities of crew performing shared septic grinder pump and sewer line maintenance.
• Directs subcontractors for shared septic facilities and snow-removal operations.
• Trains crew members in equipment operation and trades practices.
• Interviews and assists in hiring of personnel.
