Job summary

Shaw Construction in Utah seeks a seasoned on-site Superintendent to oversee field construction, organize crews, plan schedules, manage subcontractors, and ensure work is completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality.

This role reports to the Project Superintendent/Lead Superintendent and Project Manager, enforces the safety program, coordinates inspections, and supports project closeout and turnover.

Qualifications

• Four year college degree preferred
• Minimum 5 years of building construction experience at the Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent level for ground up projects
• Experience reporting to Project Superintendent/Lead Superintendent/Project Manager preferred

Responsibilities

• Oversee field construction activities, coordinating study of contract documents, plans, specifications, and Owner-Contractor Agreement to properly execute work
• Support organization of the Shaw team in allocating division of work on site
• Coordinate with PM to review subcontractor scopes and manage on-site performance
• Develop and implement site planning, logistics, build strategy, and procedures for work execution
• Support the progress schedule (P6 CPM) development, monitoring, updating, and communication
• Enforce safety program and regulatory compliance on site
• Coordinate subcontractor work, inspections, and documentation
• Maintain master deficiency log and project records; support turnover and closeout

Job Summary

Supervises the field construction of a project including its organization planning and scheduling in order to complete the work on time within budget and to quality specified Reports to the Project SuperintendentLead Superintendent and Project Manager Responsible to protect and promote the interest of Shaw Construction in all matters

Job Responsibilities

• In accordance with Owner contract requirements and Shaws Best Practices coordinate and manage the on site construction activities including Study and understand the contract documents plans specifications and Owner Contractor Agreement to properly execute work
• Support the Lead Superintendent in organizing and leading the division of work among the on site Shaw team
• Review the subcontractor scopes of work coordinate with Project Manager PM
• Assist in developing and implementing site planning logistics build strategy and procedures for work execution
• Support development monitoring updating and communication of the P6 CPM progress schedule
• Enforce the project safety & security program as defined in the company safety program and in accordance with all applicable safety codes and regulations
• Coordinate schedule implement and check the work of subcontractors
• Support and help execute the Shaw 1 2 3 Quality Control program Specifically
• Conduct Prephase meetings
• Conduct first day inspections
• Conduct scheduled inspections
• Coordinate 3rd party tests and inspections
• Maintain a master deficiency log
• Document the program in the company software
• Maintain an on site copy of record of documents including drawings specifications submittals and As Built drawings
• In coordination with PMProject Engineer PE support the process for submittal review and approval and the process for requesting clarifications information RFI
• Help implement a plan for jobsite housekeeping temporary heat enclosures power and lighting material storage handling and hoisting vertical movement cranes ladders stairs lifts
• Partner with Shaw Self Perform group on labor equipment budget material inventory and control code tracking and management implement inspect and stormwater
• Document project performance daily reports time cards safety inspections and training safety photos schedule updates QAQC inspections subcontractor meeting minutes subcontractor deficiency notices schedule and document Owner inspections and testing obtain necessary permits coordinate as required the activities of inspection agencies handle job labor relations facilitate dispute resolution assist with building turn over and project closeout

Other Duties

• Participate in company training assist with pre construction including estimating and quantification participate in presentations and assist in development of proposals participate in industry organizations

Supervisor Responsibilities

Supervises Foremen as assigned to the project

EducationExperience

Pay Type Salary Pay Range 100000 130000 per year based on qualifications and experience Other Compensation Bonus commensurate with individual performance company performance and experience
