Job summary

Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. is seeking a SUE Technician for fieldwork in Atlanta, GA. You will perform subsurface utility investigations using GPR and locators, locate utilities, interpret field data, and collaborate with project managers to ensure safe excavation and accurate reporting.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 1–2 years in SUE or utility locating, and the ability to read plans. Travel to sites and a valid driver's license are necessary.

Qualifications

• Highschool diploma or GED equivalent.
• 1–2 years experience in SUE, utility locating, or related field.
• Familiarity with SUE methods, including QL-B, QL-C, QLD and QL-A.
• Ability to read and interpret construction and utility plans.
• Willingness to travel to job sites.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform subsurface utility investigations using GPR, electromagnetic locators, and vacuum excavation techniques.
• Accurately locate and identify underground utilities (gas, electric, water, telecom).
• Prepare and interpret field sketches, utility drawings, and as-built data.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field staff for accurate reporting and safe excavation.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and industry standards.
• Assist with report preparation, deliverables, and field notes.
• Maintain equipment and vehicles in good condition.
