Job summary

FirstEnergy Corp is seeking an Engineer II/III/IV to provide field engineering services for maintenance, testing and commissioning of substations up to 765kV. The role involves extensive time in the field at company and customer facilities, with travel across the FirstEnergy system and occasional after-hours support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Civil or Mechanical Engineering from ABET accredited institution.
• PE license or Engineering Technology degree with ABET accreditation plus an advanced degree options.
• FE Certificate preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years engineering experience.
• Familiarity with transmission substation equipment and protection is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe workplace for coworkers and community.
• Commissioning new transmission substation equipment.
• Develop check-out guides, test results, and energization plans.
• Provide onsite technical support during maintenance activities.
• Travel across FirstEnergy system with occasional overnight stays.
