Job summary

Bowman Steel Fabrication and Erection is seeking a skilled Structural Welder to support steel erection across commercial and industrial projects. You will weld structural connections safely and to project specs, collaborating with foremen and field crews to meet quality, safety, and schedule goals.

Responsibilities include reading drawings, following WPS and AWS D1.1, and maintaining equipment and work areas. Travel to job sites and out-of-state assignments may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years structural welding experience preferred.
• Experience with FCAW and SMAW welding processes.
• Knowledge of AWS D1.1 structural welding standards.
• Job-site safety procedures and steel erection operations knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural welding on beams, columns, connections, braces, plates, and other steel components.
• Complete welds using FCAW and SMAW in accordance with project requirements.
• Follow Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and AWS D1.1 standards.
• Read and interpret structural drawings and welding symbols.
• Prepare surfaces and joints for welding, including grinding and alignment.
• Inspect welds for quality and correct deficiencies.
• Operate welding equipment, grinders, torches safely and efficiently.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow safety rules.
