Job summary

StructureCare is seeking a Field Engineering Technician to support structural inspection processes in the field. You will collect deterioration data, document conditions with photos and 360 videos, and assist the engineering team with reports.

You will also support operations: leak surveys, safety audits, quantity collection, and non-destructive testing. Travel to sites within ~3 hours of home base is required. Proficiency with tablets and field software is essential.

Qualifications

• Associates or four-year degree in a construction-related field preferred; minimum high school education required.
• More than 5 years of experience in the building construction field.
• Familiarity with structural components, terminology, and field construction.
• Demonstrated skill with electronic technology, including tablet/smartphone use for photos and data collection.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to spend majority of time in the field on job sites within ~3 hours of home base; overnight travel sometimes required.

Responsibilities

• Perform walk-through surveys of structures, collecting photographs, videos, and field data.
• Use electronic tablets and 360 cameras to record observations for review by engineering staff.
• Perform chloride ion sampling as part of inspection process.
• Conduct non-destructive testing such as acoustic sounding and rebar/PT/conduit locating.
• Collaborate to generate accurate field drawings.
• Assist with project management tasks and reporting from the field.
