Job summary

Orbital is seeking a Structural Field Inspector to support Asset Integrity and Asset Management programs at client facilities in the Bryan/College Station region. The role involves field inspections of industrial structures, documenting conditions, and collecting accurate data to support risk-based decisions.

This field-focused position requires regular travel to industrial facilities, reporting to the Field Project Manager and Asset Management Program Manager, with on-site work and strict

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a related discipline preferred.
• Completion of an NDT, inspection, construction, welding, engineering-technology, military, or other applicable technical training program considered.
• Industrial inspection or field experience preferred; entry-level with applicable technical training may be considered.
• Structural or asset-integrity inspection experience preferred but not required.
• Current or previous VT, API, CWI, or related inspection certification preferred but not required.
• TWIC card preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform field inspections of existing industrial structures and document observations.
• Execute inspections in accordance with Orbital procedures, industry standards, and client requirements.
• Identify, photograph, and document observable deficiencies, damage, deterioration, and safety concerns.
• Communicate Priority 1 or critical findings promptly to management in the field when required.
• Collect high-quality field notes, photographs, measurements, and supporting documentation.
• Assist with preparation of inspection reports and deliverables with clear data.
• Coordinate daily field activities with the Field Project Manager, inspectors, and client contacts.
• Mentor junior inspectors and field staff as needed.
